WHO IS THE GREAT BANDINI?
"The Great Bandini" and "Bandini Magic" are the official stage and business names of Robert Band. Robert Band has a BS degree in Art and has exhibited in a great many of the finest museums and galleries in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and as far west as Montana. Robert has trained in Music, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture and Magic and has worked in many theatre events, including musicals. This has helped him to understand entertainment in a hands on way. The Great Bandini has been a contributing author for "SAM Sala Bim", the official newsletter for The Society of American Magicians #206 in Austin, Texas. Robert Band has also taught classes in the Waco Independent School District's "Gifted And Talented Program" for especially talented students through The Waco Art Center in Waco, Texas. He is a winner of The Art Center Competition and Solo Exhibition, was one of 200 artists selected to represent the whole of the State of Texas in the sesquicentennial year, and has received many other awards as well. Robert Band, as "The Great Bandini" and "BANDINI THE CLOWN", is booked by theaters, museums, booking agents and is also a self booking entertainer. The Great Bandini has entertained at birthday parties, dances, retirement centers, gated communities, school programs, corporate events, private parties and the Society of American Magicians in Austin, Texas. As a former Eagle Scout and Girl Scout Leader's Assistant, he understands the need for youth oriented programming that is just plain fun. ARTIST'S STATEMENT
As the son of a vaudeville entertainer and as a father and grandfather who has raised children, I understand the need for good entertainment. I do "Magic That's Fun!" as my primary exhibition, however, I will also do magic with a message, "your message", when that is what you need for your event! I can be requested to play my magical mystical playable magic wands with or without music at your event, something few if any children have seen in the in their lives. I can teach your children how to make a magic trick from scratch if you want a teaching program for your children. I also teach how to present magic tricks and put together a magic show for those who want that kind of educational program over time. Magic is great fun and wonderful for a child's esteem building process. When a child gain's a skill that they can practice and perfect and then share that skill with friends and family, they grow exponentially. Knowledge is the key to success when we are talking about building the perceived ego of a child both now and in the future. Magic is a knowledge base that can be built upon over time and teaches a child the need to read, study and to practice an art. It also makes a child aware, at an early age, that what they see is not always what reality is. This is a very important message in a world where children are bombarded by media that has sales motivation as its only goal and not the best interests of the child at heart.
